Three Recent DMACC Graduates Among 10 Students Nationwide to Receive $10,000 RSM Scholarship

Posted on 27 September 2022 by KWBG

ANKENY, Iowa—Recent DMACC graduates Vedad Kavazovic of Des Moines, a 2020 alum of the Johnston Community School District, Lundin Morris of Grimes, a 2020 graduate of the Dallas Center-Grimes Community School District, and Noah Adelmund of Nevada, a 2020 alum of the Nevada Community School District, have been selected as three of only 10 students nationwide to receive a $10,000 RSM “Power Your Transition” Community College Scholarship from the RSM US Foundation this year.

Kavazovic, Morris and Adelmund are each May 2022 graduates of the DMACC Business Transfer Major AA degree program, and are now all pursuing bachelor’s degrees in Accounting at Iowa State University (ISU). They are pictured above with Rob Denson, DMACC President; Rod Foster, RSM US LLP Office Managing Partner and Location Leader; and Will Bond, DMACC Accounting Program District Chair and Professor on Friday, September 23rd, at the DMACC President’s Office on the College’s Ankeny Campus.

The RSM “Power Your Transition” Community College Scholarship program helps current-year community college graduates pursue bachelor’s degrees in accounting, business or technology. To be considered, recipients craft a short statement about what motivates them to pursue degrees in those areas, along with brief videos demonstrating which of RSM’s 5 Cs, which are attributes the firm’s people demonstrate to clients, comes most naturally to and best fits them. The 5 Cs are caring, curious, collaborative, courageous and critical thinking. In addition to a $10,000 scholarship, “Power Your Transition” recipients receive invitations to participate in an RSM Information Session and are invited to interview with the firm for future internship opportunities.
