Lance Hubby

OGDEN, Iowa—Lance Lee Hubby, age 50 of Ogden and formerly of Boone, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Lance was born the son of Merlin and Chloris (Ellsworth) Hubby on February 17, 1972 at the Boone County Hospital. He attended Boone Community Schools.

Lance was united in marriage with Shannon Norley on November 19, 1999 in Boone. From this union were two children, Nora and Waylon. The couple later divorced.

Lance was a Union Iron Worker, welder and mechanic. He worked on cars and built motorcycles. His love was his Harley Davidson. Lance played guitar and banjo and jammed to good old country music like Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Lance was a loyal friend to many; He would help anyone and open up his home to those in need.

Lance was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin and Eleanor Hubby, LeRoy Ellsworth and Russell and Leta Borg; Father, Merlin Hubby; and aunts and uncles, Maridith and Bill Larson and Art Weiss.

He is survived by his parents, Bill and Chloris Williams of Boone; daughter, Nora Hubby (Fiancé, Cameron Boynton) of Boone; sons, Waylon and Ethan; granddaughter, Ava; siblings, Kristine (Joe) Elsberry and James Williams; aunt, Royalie Weiss; along with many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets in Boone. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family for later designation.
