BOONE, Iowa—Jimmie Lee Orsack, age 84 of Boone, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at his home.Jimmie was born on April 1, 1938 in Madill, OK, the son of Raymond and Edith Faye (Bridgeman) Orsack. He attended school in Kingston, OK, graduating in 1957. Jimmie never missing a single day of school from kindergarten through 12th which he was quite proud of. Jimmie served in the US Army, stationed in Korea.Jimmie was working for a cable company is Kansas City, KS, when he went out one night and met a lovely young lady named Madgelann. On June 4, 1966, Jimmie was united in marriage with Madgelann Boone. The couple moved back to Madge’s hometown of Boone, IA.Jimmie worked as a groundskeeper at Iowa State University for 37 years until retiring in 2003. He instilled his work ethic into each of his kids as they all helped out others with mowing and chores. Also teaching his children the importance of lending a hand to others, respecting others, and to laugh because life is too short not to. Jimmie would tell his family, “You never know what one kind gesture or one kind word could do for someone”.Jimmie and Madge raised and showed quarter horses and spent time at the Hunt & Fish Club. Jimmie enjoyed having a good time with the West Boone Family. He also enjoyed a Sunday cruise (every day of the week); He did not appreciate the speeders. He went at his own pace; Able to spend hours at a store browsing, especially at the bargain bins. Jimmie’s greatest joy was his family, spending time with his grandkids and watching all their events and games. He was a huge fan of the Iowa State Cyclones Basketball and Football teams, but he never forgot his roots in Oklahoma and continued to be a Sooners fan.Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Madge in 2010; an infant daughter; brother, Jerry (Claire) Orsack; and his in-laws, Doliver and Mae Boone.He is survived by his son, Jay Orsack of Boone; daughters, Deanna (Bob) Brown of Boone and Susan Clark (Rick Madesen) of Grand Junction; grandchildren, Sarah (Adam) Hoffman, Meighan (Shane) Heuer, Jessica (Nick) Harrison, Emily Brown (fiancé, Kyle Murray), Bailey Clark, BradLee (Stephanie) Clark, Josephine (Nate) Long, Jayde and Phoenix Orsack; great grandchildren, Isaac, Ella and Olivia Hoffman, Tyler and Olive Heuer, Aidyn Fitzsimons, Tacey Rockwell, Clara Harrison, Chloe Gilbert, Kaisyn, Kyndra and Kymber Long, Boone Clark and Leighton Kay Clark on the way; brother, John (Patty) Hawkins of TX; nieces, Geraldine Whaley and Madeline Sierman; along with cousins and many friends.Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets. Family will be present from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Boone Open Bible Church. Following the funeral service, Jimmie will be cremated. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Squire Boone Cemetery, south of Boone. Jimmie and Madge will be laid to rest together, united once again.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or Alzheimer’s Association.Online condolences may be left at www.schroedermemorialchapel.com.Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall Streets is in charge of arrangements.
