BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Fire Department displaying the U.S. Flag at half-staff on Friday, 9-11, Patriot Day in the Bomgaars parking lot at South Story Street and U.S. Highway 30.  Richelle Bergeson with Wreaths Across America, has also placed a number of flags at South Story Street as part of Wreaths Across America’s commitment to a national flag waving effort.  Initially, volunteers were going to be sought for flag waving, but with other activities taking place on the south side of Boone, it was determined to go with a display of flags instead. The Boone County Iowa Wreaths Across America Facebook page has a video of the Boone Fire Department setting up their display.
