History In The Making?

Posted on 30 August 2020 by KWBG

Although there is a chance of precipitation to end the weekend, this August may go down as the driest ever in central Iowa.  According to the Water Environment Weather Station at McHose Park, Boone County has received just 1.07 inches of rain this month.  That is the lowest amount of precipitation in any August in our Weather Archives.  See for yourself – go to kwbg.com and click on the “Weather” tab.  (By the way, the wettest August since 1992 occurred in 2007, when 13.11 inches of rain fell.)
