Ogden has a new marquee which is located on the McGraw Senior Citizen Center, 241 W. Walnut Street.  It will be used for Ogden announcements and upcoming events.

Boone County Freedom Flight received a check for $11,544.50 on Tuesday.  Fareway Stores, Inc corporate office matched proceeds raised during the Boone Iowa River Valley Festival, held in May.  More info on our Local News tab

Relay for Life Takes Place in Ogden

Relay for Life Takes Place in Ogden

Friday night is the Relay for Life Event being held in Ogden at the Ogden High School track.  A survivor social and meal will begin at 5:30 followed by the opening ceremony and Survivor/Caregiver lap led by Ambassador Ryan Bristle at 6:30.  At 9:30 is the Luminaria Ceremony.

June 13, 1976 – Jordan, Iowa Tornado

Forty-one years ago today, an F5 tornado wiped the little town of Jordan, Iowa off the map.  The F5 tornado hit Jordan about 3:45 in the afternoon and within seconds demolished everything.  The tornado claimed 67 homes, 375 farm buildings, the elevator and school but no human lives were lost.
