BOONE, Iowa—Members of Company C, 2nd Battalion, 147th Aviation received a packed house sendoff Thursday afternoon in Boone. Major General Timothy Orr, Adjutant General Iowa National Guard said the unit is the best of the best and the community will once again support not only the unit but their families during this deployment.

BOONE, Iowa—There was a nice turnout for the annual Boone Memorial Day Ceremony. Fred Greiner, President and Chief Operations Officer of Fareway Stores served as the Emcee for the event. David Brown, Director of Psychological Health for the 132nd Fighter Wing of the Iowa National Guard delivered the address.

BOONE, Iowa—Ground was broken this week on the new DMACC Softball field. The field is located on property owned by DMACC will be between the DMACC Baseball field and Cedar Pointe Golf Course. The field is expected to be ready for use next season.
