The Boone County Board of Supervisors have approved a proclamation recognizing September as National Recovery Month.   A “Walk for Wellness-Race For Recovery” 5K Run/Walk will be held at Ada Hayden Heritage Park in Ames on Saturday, September 16th.  More information on the run/walk can be found at https://secure.getmeregistered.com/get_information.php?event_id=127141.

A long planned project, work began this week to demolish the former Salvation Army Store to make room for parishioners to park. As soon as the building is down, and things cleared away, the next step is to pave it, hopefully before the snow flies.

Early voting open for School Board elections

Candidates for the Boone School Board recently participated in a forum in the BHS auditorium.  Pictured are Jeremy Pritchard, Dan Wojcik, Marti Melton Streeter, April Burch and Brian Melhaus.  Candidate Linda Williams was unable to attend.  Early voting is available now through the Boone County Courthouse.
