Drink plenty of fluids (recommended is a quart an hour). Don’t overexert. Wear loose and light clothing. This includes a hat and sunblock! Stay in the shade or indoors if possible. Use fans or turn on air conditioning. Avoid caffeine and alcohol which speeds up dehydration. Check on the elderly and chronically ill. Also, pets!
