BOONE, Iowa—Mike Shearer will be retiring in January of 2015 after 35 and a half years of service with the city of Boone at the water treatment plant.  Boone Mayor John Slight recently recognized Shearer for his years of service.  Arlen Wildeman, Chief Operator at the Boone Water Works takes part in the ceremony.

Crowds and donations were plentiful at Saturday’s 10th Annual Festival of Hope.  Boone educators pool their efforts to raise money to use for students in need throughout the year.  This is just one of the items from their silent auction.  Totals to be reported soon.
