Madrid School Board Race Undecided, Turn Out Low in Ogden

Posted on 12 September 2017 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The numbers are unofficial, but there’s an apparent tie for the Madrid School Board.  Three candidates were vying for two positions on the Madrid School Board.  Voter turn out was just over 12% with 316 votes cast.  Allie Antonovich received a total of 178 votes while Chelcie Badgley and Kurt Matthewson each had 175 votes.  The Boone County Board of Supervisors will need to canvas election results and it’s possible there could be a change.  If there are no changes, the winner could be selected by chance.

In the Ogden School District, voter turnout was very light, at 2%.  Pete Bergstrom and Camille Sloan Schroeder was unopposed and received 52 and 40 votes respectively.
