Library Hosts Solar Eclipse Celebration

BOONE, Iowa—The solar eclipse will occur next Monday, August 21st beginning a little after 11:30 AM and completed by 2:30 PM.  Locally, the eclipse will be a partial eclipse with an estimated 95% coverage.  The Ericson Public Library was recently chosen as one of 75 libraries nationwide to receive a grant from NASA and this week, kicked off NASA@MyLibrary.  Part of the activity was a Great American Solar Eclipse Celebration held Tuesday evening at the Herman Park Pavilion.  Eclipse glasses were given away and there were fun activities presented by various community partners.  The Celebration was held between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
