Boone Baseball defeats #10 North Polk (with audio highlight)

The Boone Baseball team knocked off #10 North Polk Monday night 3-2 in 8 innings to advance to the Substate game Wednesday night against Bondurant Farrar at Norwalk. The Toreadors started the bottom of the 8th inning with a Tanner Schminke lineout, he was followed by Tanner Frost, who reached first base on a dropped 3rd strike. Derek Rhinehart would sacrifice bunt him to 2nd base and when Jackson Smith and Evan Appenzeller walked on back to back at bats, Nate McBride came to the plate and on a 2-2 pitch this happened…..

 

MCBRIDE GAME WINNING HIT

 

The Toreadors at 21-10 will take on  20-15 Bondurant Farrar (who defeated Carlisle 6-5) with a state tournament bid on the line. Wednesday night from Norwalk, hear the game at 7pm on AM1590, the KWBG app or kwbg.com.
