Weather Service Cautions About High Heat Indices

Posted on 12 July 2017 by KWBG

DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service is urging caution due to high heat indices today.  The combination of heat and humidity will create heat index values well into the 90’s to around 105 degrees over many parts of Iowa this afternoon. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. If you work or spend time outdoors, take frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditions environments and replenish fluids.
