Posted on 19 June 2017 by KWBG

OGDEN, Iowa—The 2017 Boone County Relay for Life was held in Ogden Friday evening.  Weather did hasten the event a little, even though organizers had already planned for a shorter event.  Opening ceremonies were held at 6:30 PM, followed by the Survivor’s Lap and then the Care Giver’s Lap.  Light rain moved in, but participants continued to make laps Ogden High School track.  Even though no strong storms hit Ogden, organizers did speed things up as rain continued and some stronger storms did develop to the north and south.

The 2017 Boone County Relay for Life had a goal of $43,000 and were almost at that level by the time the event began.

Ryan Bristle, the 2017 Boone County Relay for Life Ambassador and Survivor spoke to those in attendance during opening ceremonies Friday evening.
