Iowa DOT Delays Bridge Project in Greene County, Start Expected Next Week

Posted on 18 April 2017 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Transportation has delayed the planned detour that will re-route traffic around a project that will improve the US Highway 30 overpass bridge east of Grand Junction.  The Iowa Department of Transportation updated their information this week.

Boone County Emergency Management Coordinator Dave Morlan earlier said that the county would establish some alternative routes if needed, especially if there were an accident on County Road E-26 in Boone and Greene Counties.  The detour would be extended north to County Road E-18. The Iowa Department of Transportation will have signage available should it be needed.  Morlan noted that traffic volume could be quite high in an area where MidAmerica is beginning the construction of the Beaver Creek Windfarm in Boone and Greene Counties.
