BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Hospital (BCH) Auxiliary was recognized with the Lifetime Sponsor Award at their March Board meeting for the outstanding support they have given LifeServe Blood Center since they began working with them in 1991.  Danielle West, Public Relations and Marketing, and Erin Haafke, volunteer coordinator, LifeServe, and Senator Jerry Behn were on hand to congratulate the Board.

Ruth Bryant was given the Life Service Outstanding Chairperson Award for serving as the Boone Blood Drive chairperson for 10 years; she has been on the BCH Auxiliary since 1998.  Danielle said since the Blood Drive was implemented in Boone, LifeServe has collected 14,000 units of blood which has affected 44,000 lives.  Senator Behn addressed the BCH Auxiliary and said, “You have donated to the Blood Drive in ways that are immeasurable.  This is an impact that reaches across the nation.”  He added, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  We do notice what you are doing!”
