Former Boone County Woman Dies in Colorado Accident

BOONE, Iowa—A crash on a mountain road in Colorado has left two people dead and three others injured.  One of the two that was pronounced dead is 21-year old Kelby Engleen of Des Moines, Iowa and formerly of Ogden, Iowa.  33-year old Jacob Busch of Colorado Springs, Colorado was the second person killed in the accident.

Authorities have reported that the accident occurred late Wednesday afternoon when a vehicle operated by 22-year old Wyatt Beaman of Colorado Springs left the road and went down a ravine.  Three of the passengers in the vehicle were ejected.  Authorities report that Beaman was wearing a seat belt and is hospitalized with serious injuries.  Two other passengers are also hospitalized.  They were identified as 22-year old Sydney Neubauer of Ogden, Iowa and 31-year old Matt Orrell of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Colorado State Patrol released a statement that said the accident remains under investigation.  Alcohol use is considered a contributing factor.
