DENISON, Iowa—The Iowa chapter of the Lincoln Highway Association (LHA) will host the 25th annual national conference this summer at the Boulders Conference Area in Denison, Iowa. The conference is scheduled for Tuesday, June 20 through the morning of June 24, 2017.
The conference will feature interesting speakers sharing personal and historical knowledge of the Lincoln Highway. Included in the conference fees, bus tours will provide interesting facts and feature many of the sites found along the highway. Tours will run as far east as Ogden, Iowa and as far west as Elk Horn, Nebraska. Meals provided throughout the conference will showcase some of the bounty cultivated throughout the state of Iowa.
The conference will celebrate the rich history of the highway and all the towns stretching across the United States. The Lincoln Highway was established in 1913 as the first transcontinental highway in the United States, extending from Times Square in New York City to Lincoln Park in San Francisco, California. Once a disbanded group, the Lincoln Highway Association was revitalized in 1992 in Ogden, Iowa, and continues to advocate for the highway to this day.
