BOONE, Iowa—Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity returned to the Boone County Home and Garden Show to hold a pie auction for the first time since 2013 and the results were both tasty and incredible. A total of $1,885 was raised to help build the Mark and Kim Mohr home in Madrid, with construction starting in April. Many thanks go to the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and the show planning committee.
The Boone County Home and Garden Show was held this past weekend in the Community Building at the Boone County Fairgrounds. In addition to donated pies from some of Boone County’s best bakers, show organizers donated potted flowers used in display booths, generating $175 of the total raised in support of the Habitat for Humanity Christian housing ministry.
