BOONE, Iowa—Boone Police have a suspect they are seeking in an apparent armed robbery that occurred in Boone, Monday afternoon. This morning, the department released this information:
On January 30th, 2017 at approximately 3:35 pm, Boone Police Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Carroll St for a report of a car accident and robbery. Once on scene, officers learned from the victims and witnesses that a white male, possibly wearing a security guard or police type uniform, had pointed a handgun at the victims and had stolen several items and an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled in a vehicle.
Through the investigation, the suspect was been identified as Ronald Skyler Steenhoek. Steenhoek is described as a 43 year old white male, 6’1”, 200 lbs, green eyes, and brown hair. An arrest warrant for 1st Degree Robbery has been obtained for Steenhoek. The Boone Police Department is seeking assistance in locating Steenhoek as his whereabouts are unknown. Steenhoek is considered armed and dangerous so do not approach him. At this time it is believed this was not a random act of violence.
