BOONE, Iowa—Parents who will be enrolling their child in the Boone Community School District’s kindergarten program for the 2017-18 school year should plan to attend an important meeting regarding kindergarten registration. The Meeting will be held Tuesday, January 31st at 6:00 PM in the Boone High School Commons located at 500 7th Street in Boone. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM but the doors will be open at 5:45 PM.
According to the School District, registration packets will be distributed at the meeting. Children must be 5 years old on or before September 15, 2017 to be elibible for the kindergarten program. If your child is currently enrolled in the Boone Community School District’s 4-year old voluntary preschool program, you do not need to bring a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate. Those not enrolled in this preschool program must provide a certified copy of their child’s birth certificate.
If you or a parent you know have any questions in advance of the meeting on Tuesday, January 31st, please call Lincoln Elementary at 433-0800 or Page Elementary at 433-0840. Those that will be unable to attend must contact the school by March 10th to ensure your child’s placement in the kindergarten program. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be rescheduled for Tuesday, February 7th at 6:00 PM.
