Jefferson Man Dies in Monday Morning Accident

BOONE, Iowa—A 50-year old Jefferson man has died as a result of a two vehicle accident in western Boone County Monday morning.  The Iowa State Patrol is handling the investigation and reported today that Thomas Lee Hagar was driving a van east on US Highway 30 shortly before 8:00 AM.  A car, operated by 20 year old Jacob R. Vreugdenhil of Grand Junction was headed west when Vreugdenhil drifted over the center line and struck the van head on.  Vreugdenhil and a passenger in the Hagar van, 57 year old Lesa D. Llewellyn-Hagar of Jefferson were taken to the Boone County Hospital.

The investigation by the Iowa State Patrol is still underway.
