BOONE, Iowa—The City of Boone hosted an information open house Monday afternoon and evening to get out additional information and answer questions about a proposed Rental Code and Crime Free Housing Program.  The Rental Code was a goal of the City Council almost two-years ago.  At the last City Council meeting, a final draft of the proposed ordinance was presented to the Council for review before formal approval is considered at the City Council meeting on Monday, May 2nd.  Boone Fire Chief, Justin Adams had told the council that the focus is on “life safety, health and welfare”.  The Crime Free Housing Program is being encouraged by the Boone Police Department.
