Friday’s Recipes: Amish Sugar Cookies and Apple Salsa Dip 8.22.2014

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
4 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
Mix butter, oil and sugars. Beat in eggs until well blended. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour, soda and cream of tartar. Gradually add to the creamed mixture. Drop by small teaspoons onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. Cool on wire racks.

Apple Salsa Dip by BDM
In a bowl combine:
3 medium apples, chopped
2 c strawberries, chopped
3 kiwi, peeled and chopped
1 orange, peeled and chopped
Microwave 2 T apple jelly for a few seconds, stir in 2 T brown sugar. Pour over fruit mixture, serve with graham crackers or vanilla wafers
