New Orthopedic Service Available at BCH

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone County Hospital Board of Trustees have entered into an agreement with Iowa Orthopedic Center to provide services to patients at the Boone County Hospital.  Hospital Chief Executive Officer Joe Smith has said the agreement will allow patients to receive Orthopedic attention following the departure of Dr. James Mueller from the Boone Orthopedic Center.  Smith says Dr. Craig Mahoney has been providing Specialty Clinic visits and had been coming to Boone even before Dr. Mueller arrived.  There was an interest in maintaining the relationship and during talks, an agreement that there would be some procedures performed at the Boone County Hospital.

The new Iowa Ortho program will feature Mahoney who specializes in Hip and Knee Surgery; Dr. Steven Aviles, Sports Medicine and Hip Arthroscopy; Dr. Timothy Kenney, General Orthopedics; and Dr. Benjamin Paulson, Hand and Upper Extremity.  Appointments will be available through the Boone County Hospital Specialty Clinics.
