Tree Removal Reroutes Traffic on Mamie

Posted on 29 May 2014 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—D & J’s Tree Service of Boone is contracted to remove a large Silver Maple from the intersection of Mamie Eisenhower and Cedar Streets.  Mike Cornelis, Parks Superintendent and City Forester, says the tree was designated for removal because of it’s size, age and the amount of damage is had sustained.  He says there’s also another tree in the same vicinity that will also be removed.  The removal of large trees is done by a private contractor.  Late last year, that bid went to D & J’s Tree Service.  Cornelis says there are a number of larger trees that are listed for removal each year because of storm damage  or they are beginning to die.
