Boone And Scenic Valley Repairing Handicapped Car

Posted on 23 May 2014 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad employees and volunteers are getting close to putting their handicapped accessible car back into service.  The car has been out of service for some time.  Recently, replacement wheels were found in Nebraska.  Funds were raised, including a grant from Boone County Community Endowment with the balance covered by a donation from an unidentified individual.  The wheels and car from Nebraska actually arrived Thursday and by Friday morning, wheels were installed on the handicapped accessible car and it was being moved into the shop for additional work.  It’s possible it will be back in service within a couple of weeks.
