BOONE, Iowa—Habitat for Humanity of Boone and Greene Counties is pleased to announce the addition of Nate Nerem of Boone to its Board of Directors.
Nerem is an insurance agent and real estate broker associate with Nerem and Associates of Boone. Before joining the firm in 2006, he attained a B.A. degree in business from Waldorf College and was a claims adjuster for Auto-Owners Insurance for five years.
Nate and his wife, Meredith, both born and raised in the Boone area, chose to move back to raise their family in a smaller town environment close to family. They are raising two young sons, Carden, age six, and Hayden, age two.
“We are excited to have Nate’s experience and vision to draw from,” said Harry Ahrenholtz, local Habitat for Humanity board president. “His experience and daily exposure to local real estate markets and the insurance industry, along with proven leadership abilities, is something that will definitely benefit our staff and partner families. We were obviously pleased when he accepted the call to use his gifts in serving others.”
Nate is an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and has coached his son’s tee-ball, soccer and flag football teams. Other accomplishments include serving as president of the Boone Daybreaker Kiwanis Club, president of the Boone/Story County I-Club, fundraising for the Boone County Historical Society and being a member of the local Young Professionals board.
