UNDATED (AP) — Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins will miss tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers after he was handed a one-game suspension and a $20,000 fine by the NBA for his conduct during Tuesday’s loss to Houston. Cousins punched Rockets guard Patrick Beverley in the stomach about 2 ½ minutes into the game and was fined for verbally abusing official Courtney Kirkland and failing to leave the court in a timely manner following his third-quarter ejection.

UNDATED (AP) — The Milwaukee Bucks waived forward Caron Butler after agreeing to a contract buyout. The 33-year-old Butler made 13 starts and appeared in 34 games this season, averaging 11.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists. Also agreeing to a buyout was Kings guard Jimmer Fredette (freh-DEHT’), clearing the way for the former BYU sensation to become a free agent.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Zack Greinke (GREHN’-kee) lasted just four pitches yesterday in his first spring training start because of a mild right calf strain. Greinke said he didn’t think the injury was serious enough for him to leave the game, but he agreed to come out after speaking with manager Don Mattingly and Dodgers chief of medical staff Stan Conte.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to a five-year contract with wide receiver Riley Cooper, and a seven-year deal with center Jason Kelce (KEHL’-see). Cooper would’ve become a free agent next month after a breakout season in which he set career highs in receptions, receiving and touchdowns. Kelce is part of an offensive line that helped the Eagles lead the NFL in rushing while setting a franchise record for points with 442.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Rory McIlroy birdied his final two holes to complete a 7-under 63 that gives him a one-shot lead over Russell Henley heading into the second round of the PGA’s Honda Classic. Past champion Rory Sabbatini, William McGirt and Jamie Donaldson of Wales were at 65. Tiger Woods birdied his last hole for a 71 that leaves him a whopping eight shots back.
