Another Canadian Kim Lamarre earned bronze. Canada has claimed seven medals in four days of snowboarding and freestyle skiing. There were some scary crashes on the slushy course.

SOCHI, Russia (AP) — Team USA men’s hockey general manager David Poile (poyl) will be unable to travel to Sochi for the Olympics after getting hit in the face by a puck last week. The Nashville Predators GM is recovering from surgery and stitches he needed after a deflected puck struck him while he was standing in a tunnel behind the team’s bench in Minnesota. Pittsburgh Penguins GM Ray Shero (SHEER’-oh) will take over as acting general manager in Sochi.

UNDATED (AP) — Syracuse remains the unanimous No. 1 team in the latest Associated Press men’s basketball poll after improving to 23-0 with Sunday’s win against Clemson. Arizona is second, following by Florida, unbeaten Wichita State and San Diego State. Villanova, Kansas, Duke, Michigan State and Cincinnati round out the top 10.

UNDATED (AP) — The Indiana Pacers’ lead in the NBA’s Eastern Conference is up to four games over Miami after David West scored 25 points and Roy Hibbert added 14 in a 119-80 rout of Denver. Oklahoma has a 3 ½-game lead in the West following San Antonio’s 109-100 loss in Detroit. Brandon Jennings scored 21 points and Rodney Stuckey added 20 in the Pistons’ first game under interim coach John Loyer.

Remi Dibo scored a career-high 20 points and West Virginia handed Iowa State its worst loss of the season by crushing the 11th-ranked Cyclones 102-77. Also in college basketball, Joe Harris scored 19 points and No. 17 Virginia stretched its winning streak to eight games by beating Maryland 61-53. .
