Posted on 17 January 2014 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone School Board took time Tuesday evening to recognize the monthly ‘DORS Award recipient.  The January presentation marks the first time a parent’s nomination has been selected for the honor.  Superintendent Dr. Brad Manard told that board that the nomination was submitted by Jill Cornelis for Shelly Vanyo, High School Science Teacher.

The “DORS Award stands for “Dedicated, Outstanding and Respected Service”.  The program was set up to take time to recognize district personnel, faculty or staff, who are nominated for exceptional customer service performance.  Nominations are taken from anyone within the school district or the community.  More information on the program is available on the school district’s website.
