NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have found their next head coach, hiring San Diego offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt to replace Mike Munchak. The 51-year-old Whisenhunt spent six years as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, leading them to a 45-51 record in the regular season, a 4-2 playoff mark and the team’s lone Super Bowl in 2009. He takes over a team that went 7-9 this season.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — The Denver Broncos will be without cornerback Chris Harris Jr. for the remainder of the NFL postseason. Harris torn the ACL in his left knee during Sunday’s win over San Diego in the AFC divisional series.

NEW YORK (AP) — New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has sued Major League Baseball and its players’ union, seeking to overturn a season-long suspension. Arbitrator Fredric Horowitz ruled there was “clear and convincing evidence” Rodriguez used three banned substances and twice tried to obstruct the sport’s drug investigation. As part of the lawsuit filed yesterday in federal court in Manhattan, Rodriguez made public the 33-page decision after his attorneys attempted to have some of it sealed.

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — No. 21 Colorado has lost leading scorer Spencer Dinwiddie for the rest of the season with a torn ACL that will require surgery. Dinwiddie was hurt in a noncontact play during the first half of a 71-54 loss at Washington on Sunday. He was averaging 14.7 points and 3.1 rebounds for the Buffaloes, who dropped six spots in the latest AP poll.

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Roger Federer has opened his record 57th consecutive Grand Slam tournament with a victory over wild-card entry James Duckworth in the first round of the Australian Open. Top-seeded Rafael Nadal advanced to the second round after Bernard Tomic retired due to injury. Wimbledon champion Andy Murray showed little evidence of a three-month layoff due to a back injury to beat Go Soeda of Japan. Victoria Azarenka has moved into the second round, although the women’s second seed had more difficulty than expected against Johanna Larsson.
