BOONE, Iowa—Boone Public Works, as expected, is implementing the City’s Snow Ordinance for the business district’s only from 11:00 PM Monday until 7:00 AM on Tuesday.  Previously, Parks and Public Works Director John Rouse has said the business districts are those areas of town where snow is wind rowed until it can be removed.  That’s generally downtown, but it also happens in west Boone around the Courthouse and occasionally other areas depending on snow fall.

Public works personnel were able to move quite a bit of snow Sunday in the residential areas and was out earlier Monday passing through the business areas, getting prepared to remove the snow by Tuesday morning.  The Snow Ordinance means that parking on the streets is prohibited during the designated hours for the designated area and could result in a vehicle being ticketed and towed.

The City does offer an text or e-mail notification and residents are welcome and invited to sign up for those notifications here.
