Friday’s Recipes: Goulash and Hamburger Pie 11.1.2013

Goulash by CK
1 large pkg macaroni noodles
1.5 pounds ground beef
2 Tbsp onion, finely chopped
2-3—15 oz cans tomato sauce
1 T Worchestershire sauce
Brown the ground beef and onion. Drain. Boil the macaroni noodles according to package directions (optional: add a tsp of regular salt, or garlic salt to the boiling water) Drain well!!!! Combine the browned burger and the cooked noodles in the frying pan. Add the tomato sauce and Worchestershire sauce. Salt and pepper to taste. Stir well, cover and allow to simmer for at least 30 minutes.
Note: if you add about 1/2-2/3 of the third can of tomato sauce, your goulash is better the next day.


Hamburger Pie by BDM
Stir together:
⅓ c cream
1 c biscuit mix
Press into pie plate.
Saute: 1 lb hamburger
1 medium onion, chopped
1 t salt
¼ t pepper
Drain and pour into crust.
Beat 2 eggs and stir into 1 large container of cottage cheese.
Pour on top of hamburger. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
