Residents Ask Hollingshead To Resign

Posted on 30 October 2013 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—A handful of Boone County residents submitted a petition to Boone County Supervisor Chet Hollingshead Wednesday, asking that he resign from the Board of Supervisors.  The petition has about a dozen signatures and included information from a recent letter to the editor submitted to the Boone News Republican by Ileen Ensley.  Hollingshead says he respectfully declines the invitation to resign from the Board of Supervisors.

Hollingshead was arrested in Dayton early August 31st in connection with the theft of a lighted beer sign from the Iron Saddle Saloon in Dayton.  In October, he plead to a serious misdemeanor, 4th Degree Theft based on the value of the sign.  He was also fined and placed on probation for a one-year.  By law, a Supervisor would step down if convicted of a felony, an aggravated misdemeanor or any public offense involving the violation of the oath of office.
