BOONE, Iowa—Habitat for Humanity of Boone and Greene Counties held dedications for two “Helping Hands Projects” in Boone County Sunday.  Erich Kretzinger, Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity in Boone and Greene Counties says the two projects in Boone County were a first time effort, while “Helping Hands” has been a very popular project in Greene County.  In fact, he says there will be three dedications in Greene County.

Pastor Gary Sneller of the Central Christian Church in Boone conducted the devotional and prayer at the home of Viola Williams at 1121 West Mamie Eisenhower Avenue in Boone and Pastor Dick Dahle of Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone conducted the devotional and prayer at the home of Pat Brown at 1428 Tama Street in Boone.  Project Managers, Pete Nelson, Steve Nugent and Cal Stone were also available to talk about the individual projects.

Kretzinger noted that support was received from the Leonard Good Charitable Trust, the Boone County Community Endowment, the City of Boone Human Service Grant Program, as well as contributions from numerous service clubs, churches, businesses and individuals.  Once again, home owners will repay Habitat for materials and contracted services through a no interest loan.
