BOONE, Iowa—Boone County Supervisors Chet Hollingshead wants to move forward after dealing with an incident that occurred in Dayton over the Labor Day holiday. Hollingshead had been at the Iron Saddle Saloon and took a neon bar sign with him when he left. He was arrested and charged, but last week plead to a reduced charge of Theft in the 4th Degree, a Serious Misdemeanor. The result was a fine plus court costs, a year’s probation and a deferred imposition of sentence upon completion of the probation.
Hollingshead did issue a written apology to Boone County residents late last week. He reaffirmed that during an on air visit with KWBG Monday morning. Hollingshead said he wants to move on.
Some had felt that Hollingshead should have resigned his position, but the 25-year old, first term Supervisor says he didn’t feel that was an option.
Hollingshead said there are many important things that need to be addressed and he’s looking forward to continue working with the rest of the Supervisors and all the county personnel.
