Tree Branch Causes Friday Morning Power Outage

BOONE, Iowa—A tree branch falling into a power line is being blamed for a power outage that affected nearly 800 Alliant Customers in Boone Friday morning.  A company spokesman says the outage occurred about a quarter to nine Friday morning and affected mostly the south side business district.  By 9:30, power was being re-routed and nearly 600 customers had power restored.  The balance, just over 200 were expected to be restored after the tree branch was removed from the line.
