Kershaw dominated the Braves for seven innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out 12, and Adrian Gonzalez delivered a two-run home run.
ST. LOUIS (AP)— The St. Louis Cardinals enjoyed a 9-1 laugher in taking the opener from Pittsburgh in the NL division Series. Adam Wainwright, a 19-game winner in the regular season, pitched seven innings of three-hit ball, striking out nine while Carlos Beltran sparked a seven-run third inning with a three-run homer.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Quarterback Brandon Weeden replaced injured starter Brian Hoyer and rallied the Cleveland Browns to a 37-24 win over the Buffalo Bills, who also lost starting rookie quarterback EJ Manuel with a knee injury. Weeden threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Josh Gordon in the third quarter as the Browns won their third straight and are 3-2 for the first time since 2001.
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) —The winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers are making a permanent change at quarterback. They cut five-year signal-caller Josh Freeman after failing to make a trade, and are going with rookie Mike Glennon instead heading into this Sunday’s game at St. Louis.
