BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce received another boost to it’s VISION 2013 Capital Campaign this week with receipt of a $7,500 check from the US Bank Foundation. Scot Kinne of US Bank made the presentation to Chamber Executive Director Kurt Phillips. Kinne says the grant should help generate additional matching funds for the capital campaign.
The grant was pursued by the Boone County Historical Society. Pam Schwartz, Executive Director, prepared the successful application. She says helping to preserve the current Chamber home will help retain Boone’s railroad heritage. She says making the needed improvements while keeping the building is an excellant way to accomplish that effort.
Chamber Executive Director Kurt Phillips says the donation will boost the overall fund raising effort to nearly $80,000.
