Posted on 13 September 2013 by KWBG

Boone traveled to Newton Friday night and the Toreadors drew first blood

with a 45-yard touchdown run by Kane Springis.

The Cardinals took the ensuing kickoff and worked it down to the red zone,

but Alex Davis had an interception in Newton’s end zone.

Boone’s subsequent drive was capped with a 22-yard t-d rumble by Jaymen Tedrow,

then quarterback Davis had a 65-yard touchdown toss to Nate Pohl.

A 37-yard t-d sprint by Tedrow put the Toreadors ahead by twenty at the half.

On the first possession of the third quarter, Davis struck again

with an 84-yard dash for six.  A fourth-quarter 3-yard t- d scramble by Davis

made the final:  Boone  41, the Cardinals  20.

The undefeated Toreadors come back to Goeppinger Field next weekend

to host Saydel, who was blanked by Ballard, 40 – 0.
