FORT DODGE, Iowa—A Boone County Supervisor, Chet Hollingshead, was charged in Webster County Magistrate Court Saturday with Third-Degree Theft. According to the complaint, the 25-year old Hollingshead is accused of stealing a neon sign from the Iron Saddle Saloon in Dayton early Saturday morning. The sign is valued at more than $500.
Magistrate Steve Kersten released Hollingshead on his own recognizance and scheduled a preliminary hearing for September 18th.
Hollingshead is also the President of the Ogden School Board. He has not made any comment on the recommendation of legal counsel. The charge is an aggravated misdemeanor. A charge is not considered an indication of guilt.
