BOONE, Iowa—Candidates for the Boone School Board election have been invited to take part in a candidate forum on Thursday, August 29th at 6:30 PM at the Boone High School Auditorium. There are currently six candidates on the ballot for the Boone School Board. Two will be elected. The candidates are Steve Kelley, Kirk Leeds, Brian Mehlhaus, Linda Williamson, Jennifer Wright and Mike Young. Kelley and Mehlhaus have indicated they will be out of the state on Thursday, but Mehlhaus wants to try and participate by telephone if possible. Kirk Leeds is the lone incumbent in the Boone School Board election. Dan Tungesvik decided not to seek a second term. School Board President Dr. Jeff Anderson will give a presentation on the School District’s Public Measure for the Public Education and Recreation Levy. The public is invited to attend the forum.
