Boone Man Wins $10,000 On Powerball

Posted on 27 August 2013 by KWBG

DES MOINES, Iowa—A Boone man was just one number away from having a share of Saturday’s $94.4 million Powerball jackpot and ended up winning a $10,000 lottery prize.

David Linstrom matched four white balls and the Powerball to win a $10,000 prize.  Had he added the Power Play® to his ticket his prize would have multiplied to $40,000. Players can increase their prizes with the Power Play (except the jackpot).  The cost is $1 per play.

Linstrom purhcased his winning ticket at Hy-Vee, 1111 8th Street in Boone.  He claimed his ticket Monday at the Iowa Lottery’s Headquarters in Des Moines.

The winning numbers in the $94.4 million Powerball jackpot drawing on Saturday were: 12-17-25-45-59 and Powerball 19.  There were no jackpot winners for Saturday night’s drawing.  Wednesday’s estimated jackpot is $116 million.  The Powerball jackpot was last won in the drawing on August 7th with two tickets purchased in New Jersey and one purchased in Minnesota.  (Contributed story and photo)
