Posted on 23 August 2013 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Due to the expected record or near record heat next week, the Boone School District will continue the early dismissal of the High School only at 1:15 PM both days.  All other classes will continue to follow the regular schedule.  Again, the early dismissal affects the High School only, 9th through 12th grades.  Forecasts for next week call for daytime highs in the mid-90’s and night time lows in the lower 70’s.  The weather service is actually forecasting a prolonged period of excessive heat with the heat index to be in the 100 to 105 degree range by the afternoon early next week.
