Absentee Voting Begins for School Election

Posted on 23 August 2013 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Boone County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Philippe E. Meier has announced that absentee ballots for the September 10th School Election are available to be voted at the Boone County Auditor’s Office, or requested through the mail.  Absentee ballots may be case at the Boone County Auditor’s Office during regular office hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM through September 6th.  The Auditors Office will also be open Monday, September 9th from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM for early voting.

Absentee ballots may also be requested in writing.  Forms are available from the Boone County Auditors Office website  http://www.boonecounty.iowa.gov/Modules/ShowDocument.aspx?documentid=2775.  The same official request form is available at the Iowa Secretary of States website.  Meier says ballots requested by mail must be post marked by midnight September 9th.  He says mail doesn’t always have a readable postmark so it’s important to make sure any ballot requested by mail be returned as early as possible
