Dog Swim Approved

Posted on 13 August 2013 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—A first ever dog swim will be held at the Boone Municipal Swimming Pool next Tuesday.  The “2 Dog Night”, as it was called by Bill Greenley, will serve as a fund raiser for the Canine Corral Dog Park in Boone.  The Boone Park Commission gave approval during their meeting Monday evening.  Greenley says the request came up quickly because the pool will close for the season on Sunday.  Park personnel will delay draining the pool until after the event Tuesday evening.

The current plans call for the event to be held Tuesday, August 20th from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at the Boone Pool.  The cost is $10.00 for the dog swim and a hotdog, chips and drink for two.  An additional $5.00 will be charged for each additional person or dog.  All proceeds will go toward the fencing for the Canine Corral.

Dogs and dog owners are invited to a dog swim at the Boone Municipal Swimming Pool on Tuesday, August 20th.
