ATTLEBORO, Mass. (AP) – Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is holding what authorities have said is a gun in several surveillance photos from his home that had been recorded hours before – and minutes after – his friend was shot to death. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old Boston semi-professional football player whose body was found June 17 in an industrial park about a mile from Hernandez’s home.
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) – Former football great O.J. Simpson pleaded for leniency, telling a parole panel he deeply regretted the night he robbed two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room. The 66-year-old said he’s been a model inmate while serving his time as part of a 33-year sentence after being incarcerated in 2008.
