Downtown Improvement Projects Continue

Posted on 19 July 2013 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—This week, one of the bigger projects on the Boone Downtown Incentive Program got underway.  Work was wrapping on at Boone Hardware and workers began their project at Holly’s in downtown Boone.  The downtown incentive fund makes available reimbursements for facade improvements.  Those reimbursements could be as much as $30,000, but it does require the property owner or business to make the initial investment.  So far, the Council’s Economic Development Committee has approved completed work on a couple of smaller projects.  Other projects are pending and because of the number the Council recently approved appropriating another $50,000 for the program.  Another big project will be the exterior work on the property housing the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce.
