BOONE, Iowa—It might have seemed like a long time ago that Bill and Donna Greenley approached the Boone Park Commission about locating a dog park in one of the city parks. The Park Commission and city parks staff selected a sight that they thought would meet the needs of a dog park and fund raising got under way. A big step was taken this week to make that park a reality. The fencing is being completed and now Greenley’s and a group of volunteers will work at raising the balance of the funds needed for the project and work at completing the Canine Corral itself. Workers say there’s been quite a bit of traffic past the site with people asking when the dog park will be ready and how they will be able to use the facility. Unfortunately they’re only installing the fence and can’t really answer those questions. KWBG will have Bill and Donna Greenley as guests on Tuned In next Wednesday morning to get an update on the completing the Canine Corral.
